This year's freshman lacrosse team personified the values of Delbarton Lacrosse. Tough, talented, gritty, and coachable, the team was difficult to score on defensively and creative and cohesive on offense. After set-backs, they came together rather than pull apart. Everyone held everyone else accountable, they picked each other up when they were down, and they rejoiced in each other's successes. It is with the utmost confidence that I say that Delbarton Lacrosse is in great hands.
Finishing with a record of 12-3, while outsourcing opponents 144-77, the team had signature wins over Mt. Lakes (11-4), Don Bosco (8-5), twice beat Seton Hall Prep (13-8, 9-6), and Fairfield Prep (13-8, 8-5), and traveled to Long Island for a great win over St. Anthony's (9-4). This team has proven that they are capable of playing anyone; the future remains bright.Â
Freshman lacrosse is about having fun, developing the bonds of Brotherhood, and learning the Delbarton work ethic. Despite the ups and downs of the season, this team never turned on each other, quit, or made excuses. With the bonds of Brotherhood already strong between them, the future looks bright for the program and the Class of 2026.
