The Middle School tennis team enjoyed a great 2023 season, finishing with a 6-5 record on the year.  The team got off to a strong start, winning its first three matches of the year.  After losing to some very strong opponents in the middle season, the Green Wave finished the season strong to clinch their first winning season in several years.  The team's biggest win of the year came against Dwight Englewood.  With the match score tied at 2-2, the whole match came down to a tiebreak at 5th doubles. Delbarton prevailed by a score of 7-5 in the tiebreak to come away victorious.

After seeing a large number of the 8th grader's from 2022 move up to the Varsity and JV level this year, many players on the team had to step up.  The team was an even split of 7th and 8th graders, with 8 of each grade level on the team.  The 8th graders did a great job of providing leadership and mentoring the younger players.  They pushed each other to get better in practice each day, and huge improvements were seen across the board. 

We wish the best of luck to our 8th graders moving on to the high school level and are excited to see how our 7th graders grow as leaders for the 2024 season!
