Delbarton Bowling Wraps Up Regular Season, Eyes Postseason Run

The Delbarton bowling team closed out the regular season with a trio of intense matches, facing Seton Hall Prep on Senior Day, battling against #4-ranked Kinnelon, and finishing with a dramatic match against Warren Hills. The Green Wave demonstrated their ability to compete against top-tier opponents, setting the stage for an exciting postseason push.
 
Senior Day Thriller vs. Seton Hall Prep (1/31)
 
Delbarton hosted Seton Hall Prep for Senior Day in one of the closest matches of the season. The battle came down to total pinfall, with Seton Hall Prep narrowly edging out Delbarton 4-3, with a final pinfall of 3050 to 2899. David Reale led the team with a 620 series, rolling clean games of 213 and 204. Connor Tyrone stepped up with a season-best 618 series, closing Game 2 with five straight strikes to finish with a 220. Matt Tyrone added a 224 in Game 3, opening with five consecutive strikes.  The match came down to the wire, with Delbarton and Seton Hall Prep tying in Game 3 at 1007 pins each. With the match tied 3-3, total pinfall became the deciding factor, and Seton Hall Prep's Game 1 advantage proved to be the difference.
 
Battling #4 Kinnelon (2/4)

The Green Wave faced a massive challenge in their rematch against #4-ranked Kinnelon. Despite falling 7-0, Delbarton delivered one of its best performances of the season, keeping the match competitive with a final pinfall of 3252 to 2986. Reale led with a 656 series, including a 243 in Game 1 and a clean 205 in Game 2. Delbarton came within six pins of stealing the opening game, with standout efforts from Cole Dionyssiou (218 clean), Connor Tyrone (222), and Steven Corcoran (221). Though Kinnelon pulled away in Games 2 and 3, Delbarton's ability to push one of the state's top teams to the brink showed their competitive fire heading into the postseason.
 
Regular Season Finale vs. Warren Hills (2/11)
 
Delbarton closed out the regular season with a hard-fought 4-3 loss to Warren Hills. Despite falling in two games, the Green Wave outscored their opponent in total pinfall,
2828 to 2700, proving their ability to compete frame-for-frame. Reale led with a 625 series, rolling clean 212 and 224 games. Matt Tyrone delivered a clean 238 in Game 1, helping Delbarton take a commanding early lead with a 973 total. Warren Hills responded in Games 2 and 3, winning by 16 and 12 pins, respectively, to secure the match.

Looking Ahead: Postseason Begins
 
With the regular season in the books, Delbarton finishes with a 10-10 record. While the record may not fully reflect their performance, the team has proven they can challenge
the best in the state. Now, all focus shifts to the postseason as Delbarton prepares for their first-round matchup against Belleville on February 13th.The Green Wave has been battle-tested all season, and with the playoffs on the horizon, they're ready to make a statement.
