Delbarton Athletics

A 2005 graduate assistant at Ithaca College, he began his coaching journey at Washington & Lee University, serving as an assistant coach for both baseball and football from 2006 to 2007.

Since joining Delbarton in 2008, Coach Desplaines has played a key role in the school’s athletic programs. He spent seven seasons as an assistant coach for varsity football (2008-2014) before leading the freshman football team as head coach from 2015 to 2022. In 2023, he took over as head coach of the middle school football program, where he continues to develop our young athletes.

Beyond football, Coach Desplaines has contributed to Delbarton’s basketball and baseball programs. He served as the middle school basketball head coach from 2008 to 2013 and held various coaching roles in the baseball program, including assistant coach for J.V. baseball (2010-2016) and head coach from 2017 to 2019. Additionally, he was an assistant coach for the ski team from 2015 to 2018.

Currently, Dan is the Assistant Director of Athletics, overseeing Middle School athletics and equipment.
