Delbarton Soccer lost a hard fought game on Wednesday, September 28 to Montville 2-1, for its third straight loss.
Montville got on the board midway through the 1st half on a header off of a throw in. The Green Wave had chances in the first half, but could not beat the Montville keeper, who made 11 saves in the contest. Delbarton would remain down 1-0 through the first half. Looking to get on the board in the second half, Delbarton came out aggressively in the second half, but the scoreboard remained 10. Montville scored its second goal to go up 2-0, but
Shea Coughlin '24 answered a minute later on an assist from
William Pedicano '25 in the 53rd minute to cut the lead in half. Despite late pushes from
Josh Hepplewhite '23,
Nate Zimmermann '23, and
Joshwin Jennings '23, Delbarton could not equalize before the final whistle blew.
The Green Wave now sit at 5-5 overall and 3-3 in conference play. Delbarton is back in action on October 4 against Morristown. Game time set for 4pm at the Colonials.
