The Green Wave faced a tough Morris Hills opponent on Monday, October 2, defeating the Scarlet Knights 1-0 to take the season series, taking over the top spot in the NJAC American division lead.

Delbarton put the pressure on early and often, sending nine shots at goalie Dharm Desai in the 80 minute contest.  Playing to a 0-0 tie in the first half, Shea Coughlin '24 had an opportunity early in the second half as Morris Hills was called for a hand ball in the box, resulting in a penalty kick opportunity.  Looking to take the 1-0 lead, captain Shea Coughlin went bottom right, but Dharm Desai was right there for the diving save, keeping the game scoreless.  In the 60th minute of play, Coughlin would get another attempt as he was taken down in the box and awarded another penalty kick.  This time, Coughlin put one past Desai for his team leading 8th goal, giving the Green Wave the 1-0 lead.  That was more than enough for the Delbarton defense and goalie James Anroman '24, who made one save in the shutout victory.

Delbarton advances to 7-1-2, 6-0-1 in the division.  Next up for Delbarton is a home match vs. Randolph on Wednesday, October 4 at 4pm.
