Delbarton hosted the annual Delbarton Soccer Invitational on a beautiful weekend in Morristown, featuring Chaminade from NY, Bishop McNamara from Maryland and the nation's top soccer program, St. Benedict's Prep. 

Opening the tournament on Saturday, St. Benedict's Prep defeated Delbarton 2-0 in a very closely played match.  Delbarton played very well defensively, holding the Gray Bees to just 6 shots on goal.  Benedict's opened the scoring early as Ransford Gyan scored in the 9th minute to give the Gray Bees the early 1-0 lead.  Delbarton created some scoring chances in the first half, but couldn't put anything past Victor Laracca.  In the 30th minute, St. Benedict's scored again, this time on a Delbarton own goal for the 2-0 lead.  Delbarton's best chance would happen at the end of the second half as Owen Miller's shot was saved by Laracca to complete the 2-0 shutout.  James Anroman would make 4 saves in the loss for the Green Wave.

On Sunday, the Green Wave returned for the second game of the tournament against Chaminade.  Delbarton scored twice in the first half, finishing with a 3-1 victory to improve to 2-1-1 this season.  Skanda Damaraju opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a beautiful header off a feed from Shea Coughlin.  Coughlin would get his third point of the game, scoring off a turnover in the 31st minute for a 2-0 lead at the half.

Chaminade would score off a free kick in the 45th minute but Giuseppe Milelli would make it 3-1 in the 58th minute, putting a shot in the lower left side of the net off a feed from Owen Miller for the 3-1 win.  Sebastian Rubio made his first start for the Green Wave this season, making 4 saves in the victory.

Delbarton returns to action on Tuesday, September 19 at 4pm vs. Chatham.
