The Green Wave and Scarlet Knights played 80 exciting minutes of soccer on Tuesday afternoon, playing to a 1-1 tie in a matchup of the top two NJAC teams.

Morris Hills was able to strike first in the first half, as Killian Yombor scored in the 30th minute to give the Scarlet Knights the 1-0 lead.  Delbarton was able to put plenty shots on goal, but had no success against goalkeeper Dham Desai.  An early first half goal would be negated by an offsides call and Delbarton trailed going into th locker room at the half.

The Green Wave attack continued in the 2nd half, but could not finish.  Goalkeeper Reid Comeaux, making his varsity debut, kept it a one goal game late in the second half with a big stop off a corner kick.  With only 22 seconds remaining in the game, Delbarton sent a corner kick and Shea Coughlin '24 found freshman Dylan Mazzarella '27 who ripped it into the net for the game-tying goal!

Both teams would have chances in the two overtime periods, but neither could convert, with the game ending in a hard-earned 1-1 tie.  Coming into the game in relief of James Anroman, Comeaux was brilliant in net, making four saves, including two incredible stops to ensure the 1-1 tie. Delbarton is now 5-1-2 and sit alone at the top of the NJAC American division standings with a 4-0-1 conference record.  The Green Wave return tonight to face 1-6 Montville at Ryan Family Field.  Game time is set for 4pm.  If you can't make it to Ryan Field, Green Wave Sports Network has you covered!  Stream the game for free at fan.hudl.com/greenwave.
