Delbarton soccer, coming off a disappointing 1-0 loss in the MCT semifinal, returned to action with two commanding victories, blanking Summit and Sparta to improve to 13-4-1 on the season.
The Green Wave opened the week with a statement 3–0 road win over Summit (10-2-1), handing the Hilltoppers just their second loss of the season. Cortland Martin opened the scoring in the 13th minute off an assist from Evan Johnson, giving Delbarton a 1–0 lead at halftime. In the second half, senior captain Matt Brusco took over, netting a pair of goals in the 42nd and 57th minutes—his first assisted by Skanda Damaraju and his second set up by Dylan Mazzarella. Goalkeeper Vayun Swamy anchored the shutout with five saves.
Delbarton carried that momentum into its matchup with Sparta, exploding for six goals in a dominant 6–0 win. The offense struck early and often, with Max Horwitz opening the scoring just two minutes in from an Aidan Abere assist. Peter Wynne added two more in the first half, while Owen Miller recorded two goals of his own, both assisted by Luke Miller. Max Miller capped the scoring in the 46th minute off a feed from Henry Ferro.
With two straight shutouts and a combined 9–0 goal differential this week, Delbarton continues to build postseason momentum behind a balanced attack and strong defense.
