Delbarton capped its regular season in dominant fashion Wednesday, rolling to a 5-0 victory over Roxbury in Morristown. The Green Wave struck early and never looked back, displaying balance across the attack while honoring their senior class at halftime as part of the team's Senior Day celebration.
Luc Guarino opened the scoring in the 9th minute off a feed from Peter Lines to give Delbarton an early lead. After halftime, the offense erupted with four second-half goals. Aidan Abere doubled the advantage in the 42nd minute on a setup from Cortland Martin, and just three minutes later Liam Murphy made it 3-0 with help from Dylan Mazzarella.
Abere added his second goal of the day in the 62nd minute, assisted by Skanda Damaraju, and Owen Miller closed the scoring in the 79th on a pass from Ryan Alessi.
Senior goalkeepers Sebastian Rubio and Frank Zupa combined for the clean sheet, anchoring a strong defensive performance to close out the regular season on a high note.
Delbarton now turns its attention to postseason play and will host the winner of Don Bosco vs. St. Joe's Montvale in the second round of the NJSIAA Non Public Tournament on Thursday, November 6.
