Delbarton soccer strung together back-to-back victories on Sunday and Monday, showcasing both resilience and grit as the Green Wave pushed their record to 4-0 with wins over Hun School and Chatham.
On Sunday, Delbarton staged an impressive second-half comeback to erase a 2-0 deficit and earn a 4-2 victory against Hun. After a sloppy first half that saw the Raiders strike twice in just over a minute—first on a penalty kick and then immediately after off a turnover—Delbarton stormed back after the break. Cortland Martin opened the rally in the 49th minute with a redirect to cut the deficit in half, and Dylan Mazzarella leveled the match with a curling free kick in the 62nd. Just two minutes later, Will Antenen gave the Green Wave the lead on a corner kick finish, and Martin put the game away in the 67th with his second goal of the afternoon, chipping the ball over the keeper for the 4-2 win.
The very next day, Delbarton carried its momentum on the road with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Chatham. After a scoreless first half, Mazzarella again provided the breakthrough in the 50th minute, slotting home a goal off a set play from the corner from Franco Piarulli. Goalkeeper Sebastian Rubio anchored the defense with six saves to preserve the clean sheet.
While the Green Wave have shown flashes of their attacking potential in both matches, head coach David Donovan's squad continues to emphasize consistency and sharper play across all 80 minutes as they push deeper into the season.
