Delbarton Soccer made the most of a big weekend at Ryan Family Field, earning a pair of impressive victories at the Delbarton Soccer Invitational with wins over No. 5 St. Augustine Prep and nationally ranked Chaminade.

The Green Wave opened the weekend Friday with a 5-0 victory over St. Augustine Prep, the No. 5-ranked team in New Jersey.

Despite a scoreless first half, Delbarton controlled possession and generated several dangerous opportunities. The Green Wave came close to breaking through on multiple occasions, only to be denied by saves from the St. Augustine keeper and, on another chance, the crossbar.

The breakthrough finally came just four minutes into the second half. Cortland Martin opened the scoring in the 44th minute off an assist from Henry Ferro, and from there the Green Wave attack took over.

Aiden Jerath doubled the lead in the 51st minute for his first Green Wave goal, also off a feed from Ferro. Just three minutes later, Martin struck again, finishing an opportunity created by Evan Johnson to make it 3-0.

Jerath added his second goal of the match in the 58th minute off an assist from Matt Brusco, before Tomas Martin Aloe capped the five-goal second-half explosion with the final goal off a feed from Thine Sohn.

At the other end, goalkeeper Vayun Swamy needed to make just one save as the Green Wave defense kept St. Augustine off the board.

Delbarton returned to Ryan Family Field on Sunday for an even bigger test against Chaminade, the No. 3-ranked team in the country.

The two sides played a scoreless opening half and remained locked in a defensive battle deep into the second. With one opportunity, Delbarton finally broke through.

Luke Miller delivered the ball into the box, where Matt Brusco rose and headed it past the Chaminade keeper for the game's only goal. The Green Wave defense took care of the rest, closing out a 1-0 victory and one of the program's biggest wins on the national stage.

Swamy made two saves to secure the clean sheet, his second shutout of the weekend.

In the span of three days, Delbarton shut out two highly ranked opponents by a combined score of 6-0 — first defeating one of New Jersey's top-five teams and then taking down the No. 3 team in the nation.

It was a statement weekend for the Green Wave and an impressive showing on their home field at the Delbarton Soccer Invitational.
