Delbarton Soccer erupted for four unanswered goals in the second half Sunday, overcoming an early deficit to earn a 4-1 victory over Episcopal Academy at Westtown School in Pennsylvania.

The Green Wave found themselves trailing 1-0 in the first half after a turnover just outside the box gave Episcopal Academy an opportunity to capitalize. Delbarton couldn't find an equalizer before halftime, sending the Wave into the break facing a one-goal deficit.

It didn't take long for Delbarton to respond after the restart.

Just six minutes into the second half, Evan Johnson brought the Green Wave level. Johnson received the ball inside the box and ripped a shot to the far side for the 46th-minute equalizer. Charlie Cecchini picked up the assist on the goal.

Delbarton took its first lead in the 59th minute through Cortland Martin. Matt Brusco played the ball into a crowded area in front of goal, where Martin battled for position, turned and fired a contested shot past the keeper to put the Green Wave ahead, 2-1.

The Wave struck again just four minutes later off a set piece. Dylan Mazzarella delivered a corner into the box, where Thine Sohn rose for a header. The initial attempt was deflected, but Sohn stayed with the play and put home the rebound for a 3-1 advantage.

Martin then put the finishing touches on the second-half outburst in the 69th minute. Tomas Martin Aloe sent Martin into space, and with no defender between him and the goalkeeper, Martin calmly placed a low shot past the diving keeper and inside the bottom post for his second goal of the afternoon and a 4-1 Delbarton lead.

After being held scoreless in the opening 40 minutes, Delbarton scored four times in a 23-minute span to completely turn the game around.

Vayun Swamey made three saves in goal to secure the victory as the Green Wave continued their strong run of form with an impressive second-half response in Pennsylvania.
