Delbarton Athletics

Coach John Thompson began his tennis career at Amherst Regional High School before continuing at Gettysburg College. He started coaching at Trinity-Pawling School and joined Delbarton in 1990, first leading the Middle School Tennis program. In 1992, he was named Varsity Tennis Head Coach, a role he has held ever since.

Under his leadership, Delbarton has won the Morris County Tournament 25 times, earned numerous Conference Championships, captured three State Tournament of Champions titles, and claimed the overall Tournament of Champions crown in 2008. Coach Thompson has been honored as Coach of the Year multiple times at the county, conference, and state levels, and was recently inducted into the New Jersey Coaches Hall of Fame.
