The Middle School Soccer team, coached by
Jessica McKeever, kicked off the 2021 season on September 20. The boys were ready to roll after a disappointing 2020 season, defeating Boonton 6-1.
Tyler Carfia '27 opened the scoring for Delbarton with the first goal of the game, while
James Weidner finished the half with a goal. Zach Leach '26 scored the sixth and final goal for Delbarton as the offense was firing on all cylinders all game long.
Hugh Weldon '26,
Nolan Bruno '26 and
Kenz Raza '27 also scored for Delbarton, while
Owen Clow '26 assisted on many of the goals scored.
Defensively, the Green Wave were relentless, allowing only one goal.
Riley Ross '26 was the top defensive player with many stops, allowing the team to play a mostly offensive game.
On September 22, the boys opened their home schedule with a 3-3 tie against Pequannock.
Kenz Raza scored once again, and assisted on another, while
Ryan Shannon also scored for Delbarton.
Hudson Yee '27 opened the scoring, converting on a free kick for a 1-0 lead.
Tyler Carifa and
Hugh Weldon were the top defensive players of the match.
