The Delbarton Green Wave wrestling team hosted its first home match of the season, defeating NJAC confrence rival Mendham 53-18.
From the 175 start to the 165 finish, the Green Wave won all but 3 matches, one by pinfall and the others by forfeit. Henry Forte kicked off the night with a 15-0 TF win at 175lbs. Vincent Lee then won by fall at 1:10. Austin Quandt won a major decision 11-3 at 215 and Connor Martin finished off at heavyweight with a :20 pin.
After a Delbarton forfeit at 106 and a double forfeit at 113, Chase Napeloni won a MD 9-0 at 120, followed by a John Hager fall at :23 of first period. Luca Stefanelli would get a 17-4 MD at 138, followed by Joseph Davi winning by fall at :46. Stephen Carlisle would lose his match by fall at 5:42 at 150, but Carl Betz and ALessio Perentin would cap off the night with falls for Delbarton.
The Green Wave take part in the East Coast Cathollic Classic this weekend, January 6-7 at Benedictine College Preparatory School in Richmond, VA.
