Delbarton completed the season sweep of Mt. Olive on Wednesday afternoon. Aidan Murray (Sr, Colby) was brilliant on the mound, as he threw a no-hitter to lead Green Wave to a 12-0.
Delbarton scored 3 runs in the first, and 2 in the second, before erupting for 7 in the fifth to put the game out of reach for the Crusaders. Led by Sal Garcia (Fr, Duke), Aidan Dill (Jr, Seton Hall), Matt Dahl (Sr, Haverford), and Jack Harley (Jr, Rice), who each had multiple hits, the team finished with the game 11 hits in total. With only 2 extra-base hits, the Green Wave used its speed to score runs, stealing 10 bases in the 5-inning game.Â
Murray was dominant on the mound in what has been the best outing of his career. He only needed to throw 62 pitches over the 5 innings, and induced ground ball after ground ball that the defense picked up. In the end, he walked 2, struck out 5, and earned the win.
Delbarton's next contest is on Saturday at Fleury Field in the second game of the Morris County Tournament Semifinal at 3:00 pm vs. Chatham.
