The Green Wave jumped out to a 6-1 lead after one quarter of play and never turned back, defeating Roxbury 16-2 on Monday in the first round of the Morris County Tournament.
Delbarton scored at least three goals in each quarter of play while shutting out the Gaels in the second half for a 13-point victory. Grey Doyle led all scorers in the game with two goals and two assists.Â
Jack Amato and
Willie Doyle each had 2 goals while
Hudson Honeker had a three-point afternoon with a goal and two assists and
Bobby Cusimano had a goal and three assists for the Green Wave.Â

Spencer Shea also scored for the Green Wave in the victory.
Possession was the key to victory for Delbarton, with
Nick Faccone perfect at the X, going 4-4 on faceoffs. Trafford was 3-4 with a goal off the faceoff and
James Zupa was 8-10 overall. Between the pipes,
Charlie Medd and
Tanner Shimko limited the Gaels to two goals on 4 shots.
Delbarton moves on to the quarterfinal round on Thursday when they host the winner of the 8 vs 9 seed game between Madison and Mt. Olive.
