In their last tune-up before opening the Morris County Tournament, the Varsity Baseball team sailed a 10-2 win over Roxbury on Wednesday, May 3.
After scoring one run in the first inning, the Green Wave's bats came alive in the third and fourth innings, scoring 5 and 4 runs respectively. Kevin Hager (Sr, Cornell), Jack Harley (Jr, Rice), Matt Dahl (Sr, Haverford), and Rob Russo (Sr, Villanova) all drove in runs in the third. In the next inning, Harley, Sal Garcia (Fr, Duke), and Russo picked up RBI.
Aidan Murray (Sr, Colby) picked up the win on the mound striking out 3, walking 1, giving up 1 hit, and 1 run over the course of 4 innings. He was relieved by Chris Accardo (Sr, Georgetown) and Jake Bell (Jr) who came out of the bullpen and closed the game out giving up just one unearned run.
Coach Shatel's team starts its defense of the MCT on Friday at home against Jefferson.
