Delbarton Track Team Opens With Tri Meet Sweep

On Monday April 8, Delbarton competed in a tri meet against Mendham and Chatham. Chatham is the reigning outdoor track Morris County Champion and Mendham is the reigning cross country Morris County Champion. In the team's first meet of the year, Delbarton had one of its best meets in recent history. Against Mendham, Delbarton won 105-35, and against Chatham, Delbarton won 114.5-25.5. Delbarton won 14 out 16 events against Mendham, while against Chatham, Delbarton won all 16 events.

Delbarton had many standout performers, but there were a few who stole the show. John Cuzzocrea '25 had a come from behind victory in the 1600 which electrified the team and crowd. Then, Martin Hindelong '26 cleared 6ft in the high jump in his first ever competition! That mark ties him for 11th in school history. In the throws, Peter Donini '25 unleashed a huge PR in the discus with a throw of 161-6, good for 3rd in school history.

The team will be back in action on Thursday 4/11 against Montville. Go Green Wave!
