Delbarton Edges Poly Prep 3-2 in Thriller

In a tightly contested baseball matchup, Delbarton baseball secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Poly Prep on Saturday, April 6 in Brooklyn, NY.  Delbarton's starting pitcher, Aiden Dill, put on a commanding performance, striking out seven batters over five innings while allowing only two hits and two earned runs. His precision pitching kept Delbarton in contention throughout the game, working out of a second inning jam.

Offensively, Sal Garcia and Jack Harley led the charge for Delbarton. Garcia went 2-4 at the plate, including a pivotal RBI double in the first inning, while Harley contributed three singles, going 3-4 overall.  The game was marked by several key moments, including Matt Tafuri's fielder's choice in the second inning. However, Poly Prep fought back, tying the game with two runs in the bottom of the second.

As the game extended into extra innings, Delbarton capitalized on an opportunity to take the lead, with Aiden Dill scoring the go-ahead run on a wild pitch, putting Delbarton ahead 3-2.  Relief pitcher Christian Zebrowski sealed the win for Delbarton, pitching two scoreless innings and striking out three batters to secure the victory.

Delbarton returns to the field on Monday, April 8 at Randolph.  First pitch 4:30pm in Randolph.
