On Thursday afternoon the Green Wave lacrosse team hosted West Morris for a chance to play in the Morris County Semifinal game. It was a dominant performance from start to finish that saw 13 different players pick up at least 1 point on the afternoon in a 16-3 win.
Coach Kovachik's team built 6-2 lead at halftime, before exploding for 10 goals in the second half. Jack Sartorius (Sr, Williams) paced the Green Wave offense scoring 4 goals while dishing out 1 assist. Gavin Romweber matched Sartorius's point production with 2 goals and 3 assists. James Olsen (Jr), Asher Testa (Jr, Colgate), Chase Quenault (Jr), and Jack Amato (Sr) also collected multiple points. Not to be outdone, the Green Wave defense was just as dominant and only allowed the Wolf Pack to get 5 shots on goal the entire game.
With the victory, Delbarton advances to the Morris County semifinal game against #5 seed Morris Knolls on Saturday at 1:00pm at Cougar Field in Chatham. This will be the first matchup between the two teams since 2022 when Delbarton defeated Morris Knolls 5-2.
