Jack Alexy '21 Helps USA Win Gold in the 4x100m Freestyle Relay

Jack Alexy '21 delivered an exceptional performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Saturday, helping Team USA clinch the gold medal in the men's 4x100m freestyle relay. This victory not only showcased Alexy's talent but also solidified his status as one of the promising young swimmers on the international stage.

The relay team, composed of Alexy, Caeleb Dressel, Chris Guiliano, and Hunter Armstrong, demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork. The race was a nail-biter, filled with intense competition and thrilling moments. Alexy, who swam the first leg, played a crucial role in putting the team in a great spot to surge ahead in the second and third legs, ultimately allowing Dressel to anchor the final leg and secure the gold for Team USA.  "I was really excited to lead off the relay and get things going," Alexy said in a press release.  "It wasn't a perfect swim for me, but we got the job done and it was really fun watching the rest of my teammates execute their races. That was really exciting and pretty surreal, I was pretty hyped in the moment."

Reflecting on the victory, Alexy expressed his pride in being part of such a talented team. "This win is a testament to our hard work and dedication. I'm incredibly proud of what we've accomplished together," he said. His sentiments were echoed by Dressel, who praised the younger swimmers for their relentless drive and determination.

Jack now turns his attention back to the pool in preparation for the men's 100m freestyle events.  Prelims begin on Tuesday, July 30 in the morning with the semifinal heats at 2:30pm and the final scheduled for 4:20pm on Wednesday, July 31.
