The Delbarton Basketball program recently partnered with Morris Township Recreation to deliver an unforgettable experience for young athletes across the community. The Delbarton Basketball Clinic, a service initiative created and led by brothers Nick Treue '28 and Aiden Treue '29, brought boys ages 8–14 together for two free evenings of skill-building and confidence-building basketball at the Lynch Athletic Center on November 10 and 17.
What began as a simple idea to give back quickly evolved into a meaningful service project rooted in leadership, teamwork, and Delbarton's mission of forming men of character. With support from Delbarton's Mission & Ministry team, the Treue brothers partnered with Morris Township Recreation to offer local families accessible instruction, hands-on drills, and the chance for young players to learn directly from high school student-athletes.
The clinic's success was thanks to Alexis Voli, Morris Township Recreation Manager; Matthew White and Mike Fitzgerald of Delbarton Mission & Ministry; and Delbarton Athletic Director Dr. Tony Negrin, who helped coordinate logistics and ensure the project aligned with Delbarton's values of service and outreach.
A major highlight of the clinic was the leadership and enthusiasm displayed by members of the Delbarton Basketball program. Volunteer student-athletes—Jameson Ebrahim, James Gaven, Stephen Kmetz, Owen Murphy, Christian Seaman, Dylan Kloster, and Ryan Moumdjian—dedicated their time to teaching fundamentals, running drills, and creating an upbeat, encouraging atmosphere for every participant.
Families responded with tremendous enthusiasm and gratitude. One parent shared, "I am so thankful for this experience. If you ever do it again or offer a program at this school for outside school students in Morris Township, we will be first to sign up."
