Delbarton Basketball Extends Winning Streak to Four Games

Delbarton basketball found their rhythm, delivering an impressive four-game winning streak from January 6 to January 11. The Green Wave defeated Chatham, Morris Knolls, Randolph, and St. Joseph (Metuchen), showcasing balanced scoring, teamwork, and defensive intensity.


January 6: Delbarton 65, Chatham 60

Delbarton started 2025 with a hard-fought 65-60 victory over Chatham. Patrick Mahoney led the way with 16 points, nine rebounds, and five assists, while Luke Azzinaro contributed 14 points, including two three-pointers. Anthony Palumbo's sharpshooting from beyond the arc (4 three-pointers) gave the Green Wave an offensive spark. Strong second-half defense secured the win.


January 8: Delbarton 77, Morris Knolls 67

In a high-scoring affair, Delbarton outlasted Morris Knolls with a dominant fourth quarter. Luke Azzinaro and Austin Kolakowski each tallied 20 points, with Kolakowski hitting five three-pointers. Patrick Mahoney contributed another double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Anthony Palumbo added 13 points, including three from beyond the arc. The team's strong offensive output in crunch time sealed their second straight victory.


January 9: Delbarton 66, Randolph 32

Delbarton's defense stole the spotlight in their commanding win over Randolph. They held Randolph to single-digit scoring in three quarters, while the offense clicked across the board. Anthony Palumbo and Gunther Neumann combined for 24 points, while Patrick Mahoney continued to lead with 10 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Contributions from Alex Choi (5 points) and Stephen Kmetz (10 points) highlighted the team's depth.


January 11: Delbarton 78, St. Joseph (Metuchen) 71

Delbarton capped their winning streak with a thrilling 78-71 win over St. Joseph. Austin Kolakowski had a stellar game, scoring 19 points with four three-pointers and contributing on defense with a block and a steal. Patrick Mahoney was again a force, leading the team with 18 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. Luke Azzinaro chipped in 12 points and six rebounds, while Anthony Palumbo added 11 points and six assists in another balanced effort.
