Delbarton saw its Morris County Tournament run come to an end on Saturday, falling 61–51 to Montville on the road.
The Green Wave matched Montville punch for punch early, ending the first quarter tied at 14–14. Montville edged ahead before halftime and steadily built its advantage in the second half, outscoring Delbarton 18–8 in the fourth quarter to pull away with the home victory, advancing to the tournament semifinal.
Delbarton received balanced scoring, led by Austin Kolakowski, who knocked down four three-pointers and finished with a team-high 14 points. Gunther Neumann added 13 points while going 5-for-6 at the free-throw line and dishing out three assists. Veer Dhall chipped in 12 points, five rebounds, and two assists, and Nick Treue contributed six points and two steals.
Despite battling throughout and keeping the game within reach into the third quarter, Delbarton couldn't slow Montville's late surge. The Green Wave now turn their focus back to regular-season play as they look to regroup and finish strong down the stretch.
