Delbarton faced a strong Seton Hall Prep squad on January 16 at Montclair State University, falling 60–38 in the Dennis Gregory Memorial Classic.
Seton Hall Prep set the tone early, opening the game with an 18–7 first quarter and maintaining control throughout the first half. Delbarton worked to settle in offensively in the second quarter, but the Pirates extended their lead to 32–19 heading into the break.
The Green Wave continued to compete in the second half, but Seton Hall Prep's defensive pressure and efficiency proved difficult to overcome. Delbarton was outscored 12–8 in the third quarter and 16–11 in the fourth as the Pirates pulled away down the stretch.
Stephen Kmetz led Delbarton with 11 points, adding three rebounds and an assist. Gunther Neumann turned in a strong all-around effort with six points, a team-high seven rebounds, and two assists, while Nick Treue and Austin Kolakowski added six and five points, respectively.
Veer Dhall contributed three points with three rebounds and two assists, and the Green Wave continued to battle on the glass and defensively despite the challenging matchup.
Delbarton will look to regroup as they prepare for the final stretch of the regular season.
