From start to finish, Delbarton dictated the pace of the game, out-shooting their opponent by a staggering margin and maintaining a flawless defensive front. The game started with Delbarton asserting its dominance early, netting two goals in the first period. Dante Rodriguez got the Green Wave on the board early, and didn't look back. The offensive onslaught continued into the second, where they added four more, with goals from Rodriguez, Jack Ross, Michael Pirot and Sean O'Gwen, before closing out the third with another four to seal the decisive win. Notre Dame struggled offensively, managing only five shots on goal throughout the game, while Delbarton fired an impressive 55 shots on net. Special teams also played a role, with Delbarton converting both of their power-play opportunities, while Notre Dame failed to capitalize on their lone chance.
Delbarton's offensive firepower was on full display, with multiple players contributing to the scoring spree. Dante Rodriguez led the charge with a hat trick, while Aidan Pasic orchestrated the attack with five assists. Other key contributors included Sean O'Gwen (1G, 3A) and Jack Ross (1G, 2A), as Delbarton collectively racked up 28 points. Delbarton's goalies, George Cote and Cooper Ranawat, combined for a perfect shutout, stopping all five shots they faced. Cote made three saves, while Ranawat turned away two, ensuring a clean sheet for their team.
With the win, Delbarton advances to the quarterfinals against Seton Hall Prep on Thursday, February 27 at 4pm from SportsCare Arena.
