Delbarton responded to an early setback with a relentless offensive surge, scoring nine unanswered goals to roll past Princeton Day School, 9–1, in the quarterfinal round of the Non-Public Tournament on Wednesday night.
Princeton Day School opened the scoring to take a 1–0 lead, but Delbarton quickly seized control of the game. Aidan Pasic evened the score at 1–1, a milestone goal that marked the 100th point of his career. From there, the Green Wave never looked back.
Egor Andreev gave Delbarton its first lead with what proved to be the game-winning goal, making it 2–1. The floodgates opened from there, as Ayden Puppe extended the advantage to 3–1, followed by a goal from Marco Zimovcak to push the lead to 4–1 after the first period. The offense continued to roll in the later stages, as Cole Hurst added another to make it 5–1 and Michael Pirot scoring to make it 6–1. Pasic struck again for his second of the night to push the lead to 7–1, before Thomas Giroux added the eighth goal. Andreev capped the scoring with his second goal of the game, sealing the emphatic 9–1 victory.
Delbarton's scoring depth was on full display, as nine different players recorded points. Pirot led all skaters with five points (1 goal, 4 assists), while Andreev matched that total with two goals and three assists. Pasic finished with two goals and two assists, and strong all-around contributions came from Puppe, Giroux, Hurst, and Zimovcak.
In net, Paul Insauto was sharp, stopping 10 of 11 shots to anchor the Green Wave defensively and limit Princeton Day School to just one goal on the night.
With the commanding win, Delbarton advances to the semifinal round against St. Augustine Prep. The Green Wave are one more win away from securing a spot back in the state final on March 9 ath the Prudential Center.
