Every athletic season presents its own challenges, unforgettable moments, and opportunities to leave a lasting legacy. During the 2025-26 school year, Delbarton School did exactly that, putting together one of the most remarkable years in the history of Green Wave Athletics.

Across three seasons, Delbarton student-athletes combined to capture four NJSIAA State Championships, as wrestling, hockey, baseball and boys lacrosse each reached the pinnacle of New Jersey high school athletics. It marked the first time in school history that four varsity programs claimed NJSIAA state titles in the same academic year, cementing the 2025-26 athletic year as one of the finest ever produced by the Green Wave.

The championship run began in the winter, where Delbarton wrestling once again proved why it remains one of the nation's premier programs. Battling through one of the state's toughest schedules, the Green Wave claimed the NJSIAA Non-Public A State Championship, while also producing three individual NJSIAA state champions (Jayden James, CJ Betz and Cam Sontz).

Just weeks later, Delbarton hockey added another chapter to its storied history. The Green Wave captured the NJSIAA Non-Public State Championship, rallying from a two-goal deficit to defeat Don Bosco Prep in overtime at Prudential Center. The dramatic comeback delivered another unforgettable championship moment while reaffirming Delbarton's place among New Jersey's elite hockey programs.

Spring brought no slowdown.

After facing some of the nation's top lacrosse programs during the regular season, including a visit to Notre Dame for the Domer Classic, Delbarton Lacrosse won its first Non Public State Championship since 2023 with an 8-7 victory over Seton Hall Prep. A week later, the Green Wave capped its season by capturing the program's first-ever Kirst Cup championship, rallying to defeat Summit 10-9. 

Just days later, varsity baseball completed the historic quartet. Delbarton baseball pieced together one of the finest seasons in program history, finishing 28-4 while navigating one of the nation's most demanding schedules. After winning the inaugural Mid-Atlantic Baseball Tournament and claiming the Non-Public A North sectional championship, the Green Wave defeated St. Augustine Prep 4-1 in 10 innings at Rutgers University to capture the program's first state championship since 2019.

While the four state championships headline an unforgettable year, they tell only part of the story.

Throughout the 2025-26 season, Green Wave teams consistently competed among New Jersey's and the nation's best. Golf completed a perfect 15-0 season while winning the NJAC Championship. Boys tennis captured both the Morris County Tournament and Bryan Bennett Tournament championships. It also produced the school's first ever Doubles State Champions (Haydn Lee & Hugh Weldon).  Swimming won its first sectional title since 1999, while numerous programs earned county, conference, and national recognition.
