The Delbarton School's wrestling team delivered an outstanding performance at the NJSIAA State Wrestling Championships held at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on Saturday, March 8, 2025. The Green Wave secured three individual state titles and had seven additional wrestlers earn medals, highlighting the program's depth and excellence, under the guidance of head coach Bryan Stoll and Co.

-
113 lbs: Cameron Sontz successfully defended his title, earning a 4-2 decision over Charles Esposito of St. Joseph Regional. This victory marks Sontz's second consecutive state championship, bringing him halfway to his goal of four state titles. "After I got that first takedown, I'm up and there's no need to take unnecessary shots and risk putting myself in danger," said Sontz after his victory. Â
-
150 lbs: Jayden James captured the elusive state crown with a dominant performance once again, defeating Jackson Weller of Delran by fall in 1:50. James's relentless pursuit and hard work culminated in this well-deserved championship, the first for the Delbarton junior.  "It's awesome, I worked hard my whole high school career," said James. "It's something I wanted, this is the thing that I didn't have. Just coming out here dominating, having fun, it's a great feeling."

"I'm the second three-time champion in Delbarton history. It just means so much to me."  Perentin finishes his high school career with 4 state medals, but his leadership was a key factor to the team this year.  "I just tried to take advice from the leaders that I had," Perentin said. "Delbarton has always had great leaders, every year I've been here. Andy Troczynski, Louis Cerchio, Simon Ruiz -- so many names. So I wanted to step up as one of those guys and I think it worked out great this year." Â
