The Delbarton Spring Track and Field team completed their regular season with a 4th place overall at the Morris County Championships.  They were in a close three team chase for 2nd place with the overall winner Morris Hills out of reach.  The team battled through rainy conditions on day one and rose to the occasion with terrific performances all around.  

Two seniors led the charge with individual championships and All-County Team recognition.  Senior Peter Donini continued his stellar final season with a win in the shot put at 64'1.  He also placed second in the discus with a throw of 166'0.  In a shootout on the javelin runway, in the rain, senior Johnathan Flores floated to the top of the rankings at the end of finals with a one inch victory over the second place finisher to secure his first Morris County title and to ride that momentum into states.  Congratulations to both Peter and Johnathan!

Two junior class throwers showed they were the athletes to watch going into next season.  Trevor Wyso placed 7th in both the shot put and the discus with personal bests of 46'11.75 and 139'7. In the javelin, junior Evan Villoresi was a solid 9th in 140'5.  

In the jumping events, junior class athletes continued to score at a high level.  Martin Hindelong finished in 4th place in the high jump at 6' and Alexander Makovsky also took 4th in the pole vault at 11'6.  Aidan Ponzio placed 5th in the long jump at 20'8.5 and narrowly missed the 110m hurdle finals finishing in 9th place in 16.46.  

Senior distance runners ran in multiple races over the two days with the top performance coming from John Cuzzocrea in the 3200m.  John placed 5th overall in a speedy 9:24.44.  Joe Sheaffer was 8th in 9:38.12.  In the 800m, Sean Dooley raced against the clock in the slower heat to narrowly miss scoring with a 7th place in 1:58.78.
