Delbarton opened the 2026 season with a convincing 13–6 win over Glen Ridge on Wednesday, March 18.
The Green Wave opened the game with a 2–1 lead after the first quarter before beginning to separate in the second. Delbarton added three goals in the frame to carry a 5–3 advantage into halftime, then broke the game open with a five-goal third quarter that put the contest firmly out of reach. A steady fourth quarter capped off a complete performance on both ends of the field.
Offensively, Delbarton showcased balance and efficiency, with four different players recording multi-goal performances. Jack Sheridan led the way with four goals and an assist, while Brandon Fodor (2 goals, 3 assists) and Chase Houser (2 goals, 3 assists) each finished with five-point efforts. Pierce Bolger added two goals, and goals from Matthew Good, Luke McLane, and Christian Troczynski rounded out the scoring.
Troczynski also made his presence felt beyond the stat sheet, collecting seven ground balls and going 3-for-4 at the faceoff stripe. However, it was Delbarton's dominance at the X overall that helped control the game. Kane Quenault was perfect, winning all 13 of his faceoffs, while Jesse DeNegri went 5-for-5. As a team, the Green Wave won 21 of 22 faceoffs (95%), consistently giving the offense extra possessions and limiting Glen Ridge's opportunities.
Defensively, Delbarton remained composed throughout. Goalkeepers Matty McGinty (3 saves) and Ethan Yang (1 save) combined to allow just six goals, while the team controlled ground balls with a 27 total on the afternoon.
With a strong opening day, Delbarton moves to 1–0 on the season and will look to carry that momentum forward.
