Delbarton Baseball Opens Home Schedule With 14-1 Win

Delbarton's New Jersey season opener left little doubt — the Green Wave erupted for a 14-1 win over Randolph on April 1, using a massive fourth inning to turn a close game into a rout.

Clinging to a 2-0 lead through three innings, Delbarton broke things wide open in the fourth, sending 16 runs across on the day and 12 in the inning alone. The Green Wave lineup was relentless, piling up 16 hits and working eight walks in a complete offensive performance.

Sal Garcia led the charge with a monster day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. Lorenzo Maselli added two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs, while Finnian O'Loughlin continued his strong start with three hits, a triple, and a pair of runs scored.

Ted Masino contributed both at the plate and on the basepaths, finishing with two hits and three RBI, while Matt Tafuri set the tone at the top of the lineup with two hits, two runs scored, and an RBI. Danny Haggard stayed hot as well, going a perfect 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI.

On the mound, Kyle McBride was dominant in the opener. The right-hander struck out nine over four innings, allowing just two hits and one run while consistently overpowering Randolph hitters. Brady Smith closed things out with a clean inning, striking out two to seal the victory.

Delbarton's pitching staff combined for 11 strikeouts and just two hits allowed, while the offense showcased its depth and explosiveness. The win moves the Green Wave to 3-2 on the season and marks an emphatic start to their New Jersey slate.
