Delbarton stayed red hot on April 8, turning in a dominant all-around performance in a 17-0 shutout of Montville on the road.
The Green Wave wasted no time setting the tone, scoring three runs in the first and two more in the second to jump out to an early lead. After adding a run in the fourth, Delbarton blew the game wide open with an 11-run fifth inning, putting the finishing touches on its most complete effort of the young season.
Offensively, the lineup continued to fire on all cylinders. Finnian O'Loughlin led the way with three hits, three runs scored, and two RBI, while Curt Friedrich delivered a big day as well, going 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI. Matt Tafuri reached base four times, scoring three runs, stealing four bases, and driving in a run to spark the offense from the top.
Lorenzo Maselli added a double and two RBI, Dylan Temple chipped in with a two-run double, and contributions came throughout the lineup as 10 different players recorded hits. Delbarton finished with 14 hits, drew seven walks, and stole seven bases in a relentless offensive display.
On the mound, it was a combined no-hitter for the Green Wave staff. Brady Smith set the tone with two scoreless innings, striking out five, while Steve Pannullo followed with two shutout frames of his own. Sean Fialcowitz closed it out with a clean inning to complete the no-hit effort.
Delbarton improved to 5-2 on the season with the victory, continuing its offensive surge while showcasing depth both at the plate and on the mound.
