Delbarton Lacrosse Advances To MCT Final After 3 Big Wins

The road to the finals of the 2026 Morris County Tournament has been nothing short of dominant for the Delbarton Green Wave with three commanding postseason victories to secure a spot in the county championship game.

Delbarton opened tournament play with a 17-0 shutout victory over Mt. Olive in the first round before rolling past Mendham 18-3 in the quarterfinals and Mountain Lakes 16-2 in Saturday's semifinal at Chatham High School.

Against Mt. Olive, senior standout Chase Houser eclipsed the 100-career-point mark as Delbarton overwhelmed the Marauders from the opening faceoff. Houser finished with three goals and two assists, while Brandon Fodor added two goals and two assists. Luke McLane also posted four points on two goals and two assists in the victory.

The offensive production came from all over the field, as Trace Larson, Pierce Weiss, Jack McGinn, Brody Cozic, George Jigarjian, and Jack Rende all found the back of the net. At the faceoff X, Delbarton was nearly flawless, with Nick Pallone going a perfect 10-for-10 and Jesse DeNegri winning 7-of-8 draws to help the Green Wave control possession throughout the afternoon.

The quarterfinals brought another milestone performance as Fodor recorded his 100th career point during Delbarton's 18-3 victory over Mendham. Fodor delivered a spectacular outing with five goals and three assists for eight total points, while Houser continued his strong tournament play with three goals and an assist.

The Green Wave offense again displayed remarkable depth, receiving goals from 10 additional players including Gus Cummings, Ben Migliaccio, Christian Troczynski, Max Melchionni, Will Plank, Luke McLane, Tanner Van Nice, Reid Bolger, Pierce Bolger, and Matthew Good. Defensively, Delbarton remained sharp while Frank Zupa recorded three second-half saves in relief of Matty McGinty and Ethan Yang.

The Green Wave stormed to a 16-2 victory behind another explosive performance from Fodor, who totaled nine points on five goals and four assists. Pierce Bolger added four goals of his own, while Jack McGinn chipped in two goals and an assist.

At the faceoff X, Kane Quenault controlled possession throughout the afternoon, winning 11 of 13.  In goal, Matty McGinty made three saves while allowing just two goals as the Green Wave defense once again suffocated one of the county's top offenses.

The Green Wave will face Chatham in the county final on Tuesday at Drew University.
