George Parros '98 came to Delbarton knowing he wanted to play hockey and there was only one program he wanted to play for. Parros captained the Green Wave his senior season, posting career high numbers before heading to Princeton University. After a year in the NAHL, Parros returned to Princeton where he lead the Tigers as team captain his senior year. After being drafted by the LA Kings in 1999, Parros made his NHL debut with the Kings on October 5, 2005.

Parros played ten seasons in the NHL with the Kings, Avalanche, Ducks, Panthers and Canadiens. In 2007, he won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Anaheim Ducks. During his day with the Cup, Parros brought the Stanley Cup to the Senior Garden to celebrate his achievement of being a Cup winner. Over the course of his professional career, Parros was known by most as an NHL enforcer, protecting his teammates by being willing to drop his gloves at any moment. As a member of the Canadiens in 2013, Parros sustained a concussion and was hospitalized during a fight and retired two months later after he sustained another concussion during an on-ice fight.

Today, George Parros has settled into his new job, Senior Vice President of Player Safety for the NHL.

Dave Caldwell of The New York Times spoke with Parros about his career and his new position as the enforcer's enforcer. Click here for the full article. Congrats on the new job George!
