Cross Country Takes Garrett Mountain By Storm, Split at NJAC Race 2

The Delbarton Cross Country took Garrett Mountain by storm on Saturday, September 18. The varsity team placed 2nd overall in team competitions, while JV placed 1st (40pts) and freshman earned 5th.

John Cuzzocrea started off the morning by winning the freshman 3.2k race with a time of 11:58. Not to be outdone were Michael Banker and Merric Hu, who placed first and second in the JV 5K respectively.  Banker won the JV 5k in a time of 20:45 while Merric Hu was right behind him in second place with an overall time of 20:58!  

While the top five varsity runners rested for Tuesday's second NJAC race, Luke McChesney led the rest of the varsity to a second place team finish.  McChesney finished 14th overall with a time of 18:52:00.  Charles Mikula was right behind him in 16th place with a time of 18:57:00 and Aidan Hassan finished 21st with a 19:02.00 time.  

On Tuesday, September 21, the cross country team returned to Greystone Park for the second NJAC event, facing Chatham and Randolph.

The Green Wave fell to Chatham 41-17, but defeated Randolph 30-27.  Leading the Green Wave was Reagan Crann, with a time of 17:38, Evan Dolan at 17:41, David Collini with a time of 17:59.  Charles Mikula, John Cuzzocrea, Aidan Hassan and Luke McChesney all contributed with points, helping Delbarton earn a split result on Tuesday.

The boys return on Tuesday, September 28 for the NJAC Dual Meet #3.  Roll Wave!
