It was quite the season for the Delbarton Green Wave football program, starting the season with three close losses, but finished 6-6 with its loss to Bergen Catholic in the NJSIAA Non Public A Semifinal 28-7 on Saturday, November 19.

Delbarton got on the board first against Bergen Catholic when Kyle Checchio '25 blocked a punt and Will McGinty '24 recovered the ball in the end zone for a 7-0 lead.  Delbarton would keep that lead after one quarter with the defense looking sharp early.  Bergen Catholic would score three times in the second quarter, including a 44 yard pass with seconds left in the first half.  Bergen Catholic would go into the locker room up 21-7. 

Bergen Catholic would score another touchdown in the 3rd quarter to go up 28-7 and would win by that score as well.  

The Green Wave finished the year 6-6, but despite a 4-5 regular season record, the team performed at a high level all season long, culminating with a playoff run that saw them outscore their first two opponents 77-18, including a 35-12 upset of #3 St. Peter's Prep in Jersey City in the quarterfinal.
