Delbarton Football's 2025 season came to a close on Saturday afternoon in Montvale, as the Green Wave fell 35–0 to St. Joseph Regional in the NJSIAA Non-Public A quarterfinal.
St. Joseph struck early and controlled the tempo from the opening snap. The Green Knights took a 7–0 lead just 11 seconds into the second quarter on a 6-yard rushing touchdown from Nathan Bailey. They doubled the advantage with :50 remaining in the half, as Stalin Knowlden powered in from five yards out to send Delbarton into halftime facing a 14–0 deficit. The Green Wave defense played a strong first half, keeping the Green Knights off the board for most of the first half, despite some very long drives ending in a fourth down stop.
In the third quarter, St. Joseph extended its lead through the air when quarterback Lamar Best connected with Knowlden on a 33-yard touchdown at the 7:35 mark. Bailey added his second touchdown of the afternoon with 3:57 left in the quarter, punching in a 3-yard score to make it 28–0.
The Green Knights closed out the scoring midway through the fourth, as Steve Vazquez found the end zone on a 5-yard run with 5:58 remaining.
Despite the result, Delbarton battled to the end and leaned on the resilience and toughness that defined the team throughout the season. The Green Wave finish their 2025 campaign proud of their growth, their effort, and the standard they continued to uphold within the state's toughest conference.
