Congratulations to senior Matt Tafuri, who was honored this past Sunday (February 1) by the Maxwell Football Club as a New Jersey "Mini-Max" Award recipient—an honor recognizing excellence in football, academics, and community service.
A team captain and dynamic all-around performer, Matt made his impact felt everywhere on the field. He rushed for 560 yards and seven touchdowns, while adding 21 receptions for 304 yards and five more scores, all against top competition across New Jersey. Known for his toughness, versatility, and selfless play, Matt is also one of the most respected leaders our program has had.
Beyond football, Matt is an outstanding student and deeply committed to service. He will continue his academic and athletic career at the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he has committed to play baseball.
Says Coach Brian Bowers, "Matt represents everything we strive to develop in our student-athletes—character, humility, leadership, and a true team-first mindset."
Congratulations, Matt. We are incredibly proud of you and grateful in advance for your future service to our country.
