On a snowy Monday afternoon, the Green Wave won its final game on home ice of the season, defeating St. John Vianney 5-1, advancing to the NJSIAA Non Public Semifinal.
Duncan Stewart opened the scoring in the first period, giving Delbarton a 1-0 lead after the first period. Stewart would make it 2-0 in the second on a one-timer in front of the net for the goal. St. John Vianney would cut the lead to 2-1 just before the end of the second period, but the game was all Green Wave after that. Â
Delbarton would score three times in the third period, with
Trip Pendy scoring on a wrist shot to make it 3-1.Â
Timmy Galvin would make it 4-1 and
Max Pendy would put the game out of reach for a 5-1 win.Â
Jason Cai was solid in his first tournament start this year, making 21 saves in the win.
Delbarton will now face Gloucester Catholic on Thursday, March 2 at 4:30pm at Mennen Arena. The winner will earn a trip to the Non Public Final at the Prudential Center.
