The Green Wave opened the 2023 season on Saturday, September 2 with a huge out-of-state victory over St. Anthony's. The Green Wave scored in every quarter of the game, allowing just one offensive touchdown, en route to a 34-13 road victory in Huntington, NY.
After allowing an opening kickoff return for a touchdown, the Green Wave offense took over, and controlled the pace of play for much of the first half. Leaning on the arm of quarterback
Christian Zebrowski '24 (Middlebury), and running back
Ryan Trafford '24 (Navy), the Green Wave had no problem moving the ball down the field.

A missed extra point would leave Delbarton trailing 7-6 after one quater. The second quarter featured dominating defensive coverage and perfect execution on the offensive side of the ball.
John Riley '24 would force the first turnover of the season for the Green Wave defense and
Connor Martin '24 would recover for the fumble recovery.
Ryan Trafford would set the pace on the next play, running though a big hole in the line for a 25 yard run.
Austen Kivler '24 would cap off the drive, hauling in his first TD of the season on a perfect qb pump and go route for the 13-7 lead. Trafford would score the first of his two touchdowns after another defensive stop on 4th down, giving Delbarton the 20-7 lead at the half.
The Green Wave would not slow down in the second half, as
Brock Dandridge and Trafford would both run the ball well to put the game out of sight for St. Anthony's. Trafford would punch in his second score of the game, a 19 yard rushing touchdown, before Dandridge came in and continued the successful rushing attack for the Green Wave. Dandridge would set up a 2 yard
Philip Folmar '25 touchdown run, giving the Green Wave the 34-13 victory. Trafford would finish with 113 yards rushing while Dandridge had 101 yards on the ground. Zebrowski finished 14/19, 140 yards and 2 touchdowns.
