Over the course of a snowy two-day meet, the Delbarton Winter Track and Field team battled to a 5th place finish at the NJISAA Prep A State Championships at Lawrenceville School.
Senior
Peter Donini (Michigan) led the charge once again with a dominant victory in the shot put to claim the Prep State Title. Senior
Antonio Conte scored with a sixth place finish as well. In the pole vault, junior
Alex Makovsky continued to perform at a high level, securing second place at the championships. Junior
Dever Hanlon cleared a new personal best of 9'6 to secure fourth place.
Sophomore
Hans Clovis raced to a fourth place finish in the 400m in 53.03, while sophomore
Joshua Akakpo placed fifth in the 800m in a season best 2:04.43.
The 4x400m team of Clovis, Akakpo, sophomore
Wilson Paes, and junior
Dillon Byrne closed out the meet with a fifth place finish to round out the scoring. Additional Green Wave athletes raced to season and personal bests.
