On Sunday, February 2, Delbarton senior Phillip Folmar was honored as the New Jersey Player of the Year by the prestigious Maxwell Football Club at its 40th Annual Tri-State Mini Max Awards in Drexel Hill, PA. This distinguished award recognizes excellence in football, academics, and community service, making it a fitting tribute to Phillip's remarkable high school career.
A four-year varsity starter at wide receiver, Phillip rewrote the record books, playing in more games than any player in Delbarton football history. His elite route-running, clutch performances, and unwavering leadership made him one of the most respected athletes in the state. He concluded his Green Wave career with 2,234 receiving yards, 38 touchdowns, and first-team All-State honors, cementing his legacy as one of the program's all-time greats.
"Beyond his accomplishments on the field, Phillip's intellect, work ethic, and humility have left a lasting impact on the Delbarton community," says head coach Brian Bowers. "A quiet leader with an unrelenting drive, he has set the standard for future generations of Green Wave athletes."
This fall, Phillip will take his talents to the University at Buffalo on a full athletic scholarship, where he will compete at the Division I level.
Phillip embodies the Delbarton spirit, and we couldn't be prouder of his achievements. We look forward to watching him continue to excel at the next level and beyond.
Congratulations, Phillip!
