The Delbarton golf team clinched a thrilling victory at the Morris County Tournament held yesterday at Flanders Valley Golf Course, edging out Mendham by just two strokes to take home the team title for the second straight year.
Led by senior Jake Kurtzman, who hit a 3-over-par 75 to finish fourth individually, the Green Wave posted a team score of 309 — narrowly ahead of Mendham's 311. The win marked a strong all-around showing for Delbarton, with all four scoring players finishing inside the top 16.
Grady Gore shot his way to 11th place, followed by Will Kramer in 14th and Matthew Lu in 16th, each contributing key rounds in the tightly contested tournament.
While Delbarton took home team honors, Randolph's Achal Agnihotri delivered the individual performance of the day. Agnihotri fired a 2-under 70 to claim medalist honors, the only player to finish under par on the challenging Flanders Valley layout.
The county championship win adds to Delbarton's growing legacy in New Jersey high school golf and sets the tone for a strong postseason run.
