Delbarton golf, currently #3 in New Jersey, has opened the 2026 season in dominant fashion, racing out to a perfect 7–0 record while establishing itself as one of the top programs in the state.
The Green Wave's unbeaten run includes impressive victories over Pequannock, Chatham, Mendham, West Morris, Bergen Catholic, Ranney School, and Wall—showcasing both depth and consistency across the lineup. Whether in tight matches or more comfortable wins, Delbarton has delivered a balanced attack that has proven difficult for opponents to match.
Even more impressive, the program's success stretches well beyond this spring. Dating back to the 2024 season, Delbarton is currently riding a 22-match winning streak in match play—a run that speaks to the program's sustained excellence under coach Sean Flanagan, year after year.
Beyond dual-match success, the Green Wave has also made its mark in tournament play. Delbarton placed third at the highly competitive Green Knight Invitational and a second-place finish at the Red Devil Invitational, signaling the team's ability to compete at a high level against some of the region's best.
A major reason for the early-season surge has been the standout play from a talented core group. Sophomore Axel Brandes has emerged as one of the team's top performers, highlighted by an even-par 72 at the Green Knight Invitational—good for a runner-up finish overall. Fellow sophomore Henry Blake has been equally impressive, earning a second-place finish at the Red Devil Invitational with a 72 of his own.
Senior captain Grady Gore has provided steady leadership and production, continuing to anchor the lineup with consistent scoring. At the Red Devil Invitational, Gore delivered a strong showing of his own, finishing sixth overall. Alongside him, James Ward has played a key role in rounding out a deep and reliable group that has powered Delbarton's undefeated start.
With a blend of experienced leadership and rising young talent—and a winning streak that continues to grow—the Green Wave has positioned itself for a strong spring. If the early results are any indication, Delbarton golf is poised to remain a force as the season progresses.
