Delbarton Swimming Falls To St. Augustine In Non Public Championship

The Delbarton Green Wave capped a stellar season with a competitive showing in the NJSIAA Boys Non-Public A State Swimming Championship, but ultimately fell to a powerful St. Augustine Prep School squad, 100–70, on Wednesday at the Neptune Aquatic Center. The Hermits claimed their fourth consecutive state title and continued one of the state's premier streaks in high-school swimming.

Delbarton's journey to the title meet was itself a highlight for the program. The Green Wave earned a Non-Public North sectional crown with a convincing win over Pingry, showcasing depth and a blend of rising talent and veteran leadership along the way from our two senior captains Dalton Brooks and Femi Oshodi.

In the championship race, St. Augustine's balanced scoring and clutch performances across late individual events gave the Hermits an edge towards the end of the meet. Delbarton battled hard in multiple races, with swimmers pushing the pace and earning key points, but St. Augustine's team depth proved decisive across the meet.

Though the final score did not swing in the Green Wave's favor, the effort reflected the program's strength and continued ascent in New Jersey swimming, led by head coach Patrick Savidge. The journey to the state final marked a significant accomplishment for the program with many key contributors returning next year for another run to a state championship.
