The Green Wave Middle School Cross Country Team wrapped up the 2022 season on Thursday, October 27 at the Morris County Team Races in Greystone Central Park.  

The team finished 6th in the Group 1 Boys County Championship race.  All three boys who had raced in the grade level races the previous week ran faster in the race this time around!  Cameron Gabriel took 12th place overall with an 11:11 time, dropping 12 seconds from his grade level race!  Alexander Tonzola took 24th at 12:05, dropping 14 seconds and Jacob Gordon was 31st overall with a time of 12:22, an amazing 66 seconds faster than his grade level race!

The team certainly missed Matthew Laurenzi, who finished first overall in many of his races this season, which probably cost the teams a few positions in the overall rankings.  Despite the incomplete roster, the Green Wave remained competitive as a team.  Says coach Brian Theroux, "This was a great MS XC season. We went 9-2 in the regular season and placed 6th in the County Championships. I am proud of the team and grateful for the time we spent training together."

Congrats to the entire team on a great season and we look foward to seeing you all back next fall either racing for the Middle School or varsity team!
