The Green Wave middle school cross country team won its first and only home meet this season, defeating Dover Middle 15-40, a clean sweep with Delbarton runners placing 1 through 5.
On a beautiful afternoon for running, the Green Wave improved to 3-0 this season with a perfect performance against Dover. Says coach
Brian Theroux, "This week in practice we focused on race strategy and controlling effort on the ups and downs of our home course. All of the Delbarton runners did a great job attacking the hills and managing pace on the flats."
The team finishes were as follows: Matthee Laurenzi (1) 9:01, Cameron Gabriel (2) 9:11, Kabir Singh (3) 9:15, Eric Feng (4) 9:48, Alexander Tonzola (5) 10:04, Jacob Gordon 10:22, Edward Zervigon 10:39, Ajay Tolia 11:06, Grady Hall 12:29, Enzo Mazzanti 13:12, Christian Barravecchio 13:16. "90% of cross country racing is mental: having a plan and the mental control over your body to follow through with it," said Theroux. "The final 10% is heart, which everyone on the team showed in their sprint to the finish."
Congrats on another great victory and best of luck in your next event!
